    CHAPTER ONE
    The scope of social studies is not limited to the social science discipline and humanities alone. Finically social studies is science that is used in explaining some aspects of man’s physical environment.
    CHAPTER TWO
    Aims and objectives of social studies as a subject matter of fact is stated in recognition of problems of society. The objective of social studies inculcate in students. The values, ideals, knowledge and skills in order to enable them to function properly and pay their roles as members of the society. This chapter two aims and objectives of social studies provide us with national goals and objectives of social studies are also formulated in the national objectives of education. It contributed in the spirit of the Nigeria philosophy of education lay emphasis on the integration. It draw from the national policy on education.
    It teach the roles of social studies educating in solving problem of the Nigeria. It also promotion of Democratic principles and living. It also calculating a sense responsibility to others. It also inculcation of National it also inculcation of desirables values and social attitudes.
    CHAPTER THREE
    Social studies and social sciences they made us to know that the natural and physical science. It is a system which deals with natural science. This chapter make as to know that social studies therefore means that various concept and is recognizable and systematically developing body of knowledge
    This does not means that social studies should be taught each of the component subject in mutual isolation of the one another.
    CHAPTER FOUR
    Historical development of social studies.
    Social studies was initialed in west Germany after the second war as it means of developing a new political order. Meaning that its aim is to give us information about the world in which and to help us to play effective roles in a democratic society.
    Development of social studies in Nigeria.
    It means that social studies was introduced as a subject in to Nigeria educational system. When the western region participated in the education.
    The main purpose of this project was to write a syllabus and develop teacher’s education materials that would explain the theory and practice of social studies to the participating teachers college.
    Social studies develops many universities and colleges of education with 22 advanced teachers. This means that social studies helps us to developed our country.
    CHAPTER FIVE
    AIDS EDUCATION: PHILOSOPHY, OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE.
    In this chapter the book teaches us the meaning of HIV and AIDS in this chapter that they stated the meaning were they refers HIV as Human Immune Deficiency Virus while AIDS as Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, I can say that this is disease that can affect people through sex or through another things.
    AIDS education makes it easier for us to understand more about the infected person packages for them and the way to prevent it.
    I can say that for this disease we have to protect ourselves very well to avoid contacting it and be careful with many things we do like sex, injection, scarification knives, blood transfusion etc.
    CHAPTER SIX
    FAMILY LIFE EDUCATION
    I can say that family life education is the protection of family for any purpose or preserving cultural heritage. It can help in marriage.
    CHAPTER SEVEN
    POPULATION EDUCATION
    Population education is the creation of awareness on issues relating to population. It help us in promote a healthy. It can help us to calculate the number of people in our country.

    DRUG EDUCATION
    Drug is anything or chemical substance other than food you cannot take any drug without doctor direction because it can harm you.

    Social studies is an inter-disciplinary study of man in relation to his surroundings. It is not concerned with the building of theories as its main goals; rather it inter-relates or integrates the already propounded theories to gain insight and wider perspective in to the study of man and his effort at influencing his environment.
    Social studies teaches us the application of the relevant knowledge and skills from the social sciences, arts and sciences for better living;
    Effective citizenship education, therefore, entails the actual information of the people into the social values.

    The social sciences on the other hand are those subjects that relate to the origin, organization, and development of human society especially man in his association with other man. The study OF genetics, a branch of biology has increased our knowledge of heredity and variation which may aid in improving man’s social conditions
    Social studies was introduced used to legitimize the teaching of social sciences particularly sociology whose primary purpose was to prepare people for their live in the society

    Social studies teach us to know the ways of preventing some in fuscous like HIV/AIDS and other diseases etc

In summary in the above definition social studies can be seen as a subject that is concerned with man interaction with his environment and his effort of successfully adjust and live in his constantly changing environment. In conclusion one can safely state that social studies is a discipline through which man studies and learns about the problem of living and adjusting to his every changing environment
    2. Also the study of social studies teaches us on how to control and prevent Hiv/Aids also avoid being contracted.
    3. Social studies also help us and teaches us the lady to manage our family and the way to do family planning.

    Aids education can be describe as a package of enlightens given to populace through the school instruction. The packages can include population erasures that would protect the populace from contracting the diseases
    SIGNS OF AIDS
    It is not possible to tell whether a person is infected with AIDS just by looking at him or her. Those who have not experience any signs or symptoms of the diseases can look very healthy. They may not apper until between six months and ten years after the person was contracted the diseases.
    SYMPTOMS OF AIDS

    These drugs make the user to perceive voices and visual which do not exist in reality

    7 It lead to extreme poverty

    PREVENTION OF DRUG ABUSE
    1. Every citizen is urged to join war against drug abuse by reporting the law enforcement agencies
    2. Victims should be encourage to seek counseling and treatment
    4 The NDLEA should not only concern itself with arrest of culprits but from time to time organize workshops on drug free education.
