Through population and population census the author wants us to understand that it helps in the equitable distribution of the nation’s wealth and to know the number of people around us. It can detect from the book that it is important for us to take in drug in proper manner through doctor’s direction or advice beside it is not good for us to take in drugs like narcotics and stimulants etc. which have negative impact in our body. QUESTION: REVIEW FOUNDATION OF SOCIAL STUDIES
Social studies is concerned with the study of man in his environment and it can be referred to as one of the disciplines of social sciences which carried out a systematic study of man’s interactions with his fellow man on one hand and the interaction with his environment on the other hand.
The scope of social studies is not limited to the social science disciplines and humanities alone. It also extends to the physical science where concepts from elementary or general science are used in explaining some aspects of man’s physical environment.
The national goals and objective of social studies are also formulated in line with the national objectives of education.
Through social studies, therefore, the child will be exposed to some of the political norms and values of society. This can be done through teaching then some electoral values like coming out to vote during elections for adults who have attained 18 years and above.
Social studies was initiated Germany after the second world was as a means of developing a new political order (Obilo, 1979). The emphasis there was therefore that of political order and cohesion. His was necessary after devastating effects of the first and Second World War. Later, following Hadow’s report on education in Britain in 1929, there was a renewed emphasis on an education that will take in account the pupil’s natural and social environment.
Development of social studies in Nigeria by the spirit of the Mombassa Conference and in an effort to address the issues of development of the country. Nigeria began to undertake a wise range of innovations in education generally. One of such efforts was the setting u of the National Curriculum Conference which had its first meting at Lagos in the y 1969.
This move was given more impetus by an important body that played a significant role in the development of the subject. This was the Northern Nigeria Teachers Educations Project (NNTEP).
For instance, the shift from traditional illiterate agricultural society to literate, specialized and developing society has changed children from an economic asset into an expensive burden.
Population Education is the creation of awareness on issues relating to population. Its Philosophy is to promote a healthy, literate and productive population. This is achieved through awareness campaigns and teaching programmes such as family planning, balance chief personal hygiene and adequate medical care.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defined drug as a sutance which introduced into the organism or one of its functions.
The increasing scourge of drug abuse among our teaming youth should a source of worry and concern individual citizens, government and non-government organization.

  24. The United Kingdom does not have a constitution
The UK has no written constitution. Nor does England have a constitution, neither written nor formulated. The United Kingdom is one of the few countries of the world that does not have a written constitution: it just has what is known as an "uncodified constitution".
Thus the only "British Constitution" that exists is a set of rules and regulations constituted by jurisprudence and laws (English and Scottish law), and by various treaties and international agreements to which the United Kingdom has signed up.
